Bathroom Renovation

Bathroom Renovation
January 19, 2020 Katie Theuer

We recently renovated our master bath and I absolutely lovvvvvvve how it turned out! After meeting with 3 different contractors, I was starting to get really discouraged about finding the right fit. Turns out 4th time’s the charm, and Renovation Pro ended up bringing my bathroom dreams to life! These guys were absolutely awesome to work with and I couldn’t be happier with the outcome.

Our before pictures…

our bathroom is not huge anyway and the old layout made it feel even smaller. The shower felt very closed in. We took the wall (between the shower and bath) down to a half wall. It makes the shower and whole room feel so much bigger. I also liked the idea of getting rid of our L shaped vanity and having both sinks along the same wall.

and…….the after pics!

I absolutely fell in love with the idea of this black clawfoot tub. It sort of became the central focus of the design and everything else just unfolded around it. I also looooooved this patterned tile and I felt like my space was small enough that it could work. I covered the window with a wooden plantation shutter and I love all the natural wood shades paired with black and white.

Tearing out the old vanity opened up the wall space and I decided to accent the wall by adding shiplap.

Cathy at Madison Flooring and Paint was wonderful helping me find the right tile choices. The patterned tile is by MSI and called Kenzi Paloma. We went with a matte white subway tile for the shower and vanity backsplash.

I was over the moon to find this wood vanity at Southeastern Salvage. It was the exact look I wanted and the price seemed too good to be true. They have some gorgeous wood bathroom vanities right now! We added a subway tile backsplash and I was super happy with the overall look.

Taking the original wall down to a half wall opened up the space SO much. Ryan’s one thing he really wanted with the new design was a black shower floor. We went with a pentagon tile with black grout. I think it looks great.

When I spotted this Kohler cast iron tub, I had to have it. Terri at Parks Supply was so helpful and guided me in my selections. I chose all my faucets and shower head from the Delta Trinsic collection.

Ledgewood Fine Stationery designed my wall art. It’s exactly what I had envisioned!

I wanted matte black hardware and mirrors. I really wanted rounded edge mirrors but I couldn’t justify the price difference so good ole Amazon served me well helping me find these rectangular ones.

I had all these visions of bathing the kids in our new tub. Literally, within 1 minute of being in it, they broke the drain… ha! We will let them use our bathroom again…at some point. For now, Ryan and I are enjoying it too much (and they are enjoying destroying our other bathroom).

Thank you Lauren Tomasella Photography for the photos of our new bathroom!

And thanks for stopping by, y’all!!
